How to Set Up Alphabet Turkey Activity

Grab all your supplies. Cut out a body for the turkey using the brown foam sheet. Also cut out the beak and snood from the orange and red foam sheet.

Grab your foam letters in different colours. If you only want to use turkey feather colours like red, orange and yellow, grab letters in those colours or you can use all different colours.

I find the best way to attached the foam letters and turkey bottle to the window is to use a spray water bottle.

For preschoolers, you can have them spray the water on the window. For toddlers, you can spray the water for them.

Spray the window with water and stick the turkey body on the window along with the beak and snood.

Next, stick the letters up all around the turkey body as feathers! This is a great opportunity to introduce letters to toddlers. As they stick the letter up tell them what letter it is and what sound it makes. If the letter matches the first letter of their name say that to them as well.

For preschoolers, have them name the letters as the stick them up.

Trouble Shooting Letter Turkey

The foam letters stick best when the window is wet so if the letters aren’t sticking spray lots of water on the window.

Total Hit

This was a total hit with my 20 month old twins. They stuck the letters up on the window pulled them down stuck them up several more times! The whole time we talked about the letters and their sounds! The best part is that the results were fun to look at and the clean up was easy!
