Dinosaur Letter Hunt

I love using toys in learning activities! They make the best tool, 1) because you already have them and 2) your child is already familiar with them.

In this activity you will grab all of your dinosaur toys! Line them up and add letter to them using painter’s tape and a black sharpie. I like to use painter’s because it is less likely to leave a residue on the toys after you are done the activity. Write the letter on a small piece of tape and attach it to the back each dinosaur.

We did this activity outside, so I gadded some sidewalk chalk and together with my two year twins wrote out the letters of the alphabet in large writing. I wrote both capital and lowercase letters.

If you are doing this activity indoors you can use post-it notes or a piece of paper taped to the floor to write the letters.

Hide the Dinosaurs

Now comes for the fun part! Hiding the dinosaurs. I like to do this activity with my twins because they aren’t the best yet at finding things. So I let them help me hide the animals and they still have a blast finding them, especially outside. For preschoolers, hide the animals before they come to the activity to make it more challenging.
