In the bowls add the paint and mix with a little water and mix well. I played with the mixture until it was a smooth watered down consistency but not too watery. You want it to pour smoothly out of the eggs!

Pour the watered down paint mix into the plastic Easter eggs.

Painting Tip

Make sure your Easter eggs have a large enough hole in the bottom to allow for the paint to drip through.

If you use a box, cleanup is a little easier but this is a messy activity with lots of watery paint. I added an extra layer under the box to absorb any paint that might have escaped.

How they played

As I mentioned before, this is a messy painting activity involving lots of watery paint. But its very fun! My kids loved dripping the eggs but they also load dumping them. That’s why having a sensory bin or plastic container or box is key to doing this activity. We didn’t really keep the paper after we were done. It was too wet from paint.

Hands did go into the paint so have wipes handy. And finally I just embraced the messy because they were enjoying it so much!
