INSIDE: Create a life size gingerbread man craft (or girl!) in this easy and fun Christmas craft activity that your child will love it!

Beside Halloween, Christmas is one of my favorite times of year to do activities! There are so many options from Santa to Christmas trees to gingerbread men and my happy kindergartner just can’t get enough! This new activity was definitely a hit.

Giant gingerbread girl is a fun Christmas craft perfect for all ages. It is a great creativity activity for toddlers and preschoolers and my happy kindergartner had a blast creating a life size gingerbread girl of herself!

Here’s how to get started

Make a Gingerbread Girl

Have your little one lie down on the floor beside the kraft paper roll. Unroll the paper on the floor the same length as your child.

Cut the paper slightly longer than the length of your child. Tape it down to the floor with the masking tape.

Using a pencil trace around your child’s body on the kraft paper to create an outline of your child and your gingerbread man outline.

Retrace the outline using the black sharpie. I did not trace my daughter’s outline with the black sharpie the first time as I I did not want to get the permanent marker on her clothing.

Make a Gingerbread a Face

I had my little one draw a face on her gingerbread girl outline using Kwik Stix Solid Tempera Paint. These are great for activities like this as they are paint but they dry in seconds. Making them ideal painting tools for toddlers! Don’t have paint sticks? No worries you can use whatever markers or crayons that you have!

Time to Decorate

Then I had my four year old decorate the rest of her gingerbread girl.

She used foam stickers and Kwik Stix Solid Tempera Paint to decorate the arms and legs and to make buttons.

Fun Christmas Activity

This was a lot of fun and a big hit with my kindergartner.

She loved making her gingerbread girl come to life.

And best of all it was super easy to set up and clean up!
