How to Make Bubble Foam

I like to make my bubble foam directly in my sensory bin. That way none of the foam is lost in the transfer from a bowl to the bin.

Add about an inch or less of water and 2 tbsp of dish soap.

Tip the bin so that the water pools on one side and in your other hand use the hand blender or whisk to whip up the bubbles.

Add more dish soap as necessary to create a thicker foam but a little does go a long way and the hand blender really works wonders.

Coloured Foam

If you want to make different coloured foam, add a few drops of food colouring to the water and dish soap mix.

Part Sensory Part Pretend Play

I could have left this sensory bin with just bubbles and not add the pretend play element. She was having so much fun just playing with the bubbles.

So that’s exactly what I did. I left her to play with just the bubbles for a while and when she grew bored of that I added the pom poms and muffin tin to create bubble cupcakes.

Fun Sensory Bin

Pom poms and bubbles were made for each other. She mixed them together, squeezed them and plopped them around and just generally had a good old sensory play time.

Clean up

To clean up the pom poms I wrapped them in a towel, squeezed out the excess water and bubbles and left them out to air dry. You can also try putting them in a lingerie bag and plopping them in the dryer on low.

For Best Results

For the best and fluffiest bubbles use a hand blender and save your arm.
