How to Set Up Shower Curtain Painting Outdoor Activity

For this outdoor painting activity you’ll need a clear shower curtain liner and some strong string or twine. I thread the twine through the holes in the shower curtain leaving enough to tie the curtain to my fence posts on either side across my yard.

I wanted this to be away from the fence in the middle of the yard, for something new. Then I tied the twine to my fence posts making sure to pull tight so that the curtain was as high and as secure as possible.

Watch my kids paint here:

To prevent the curtain liner from blowing in the wind I secured it on the bottom with a few large rocks. Then I brought out my washable paint spill proof cups with some brushes.

At first my kids weren’t sure what to make of the set up. I helped them by showing them how they could paint on the shower curtain surface. It was a different medium from what they are used to as well. Painting on a surface that moves was fun and a little frustrating for them. But once they got the hang of it they really got into this painting activity.

Clean Up

I love a good activity that keeps on giving. I decided to let them clean off the paint once they were done using sponges and soapy water. This arguably was more fun than paining!

TV Show: Curious Crafting

I’m so excited to finally share my new crafting TV show Curious Crafting which launched July 1 at on TVOkids and TVOkids YouTube!

This show is all about fun and easy crafts for toddlers and preschoolers.

Set in the ultimate crafting space, Curious Crafting is a short form pre-school age series about the joy of making crafts. I lead a rotating cast of adorable little preschoolers (including my own) making magic out of common household objects.

In each episode we transform recycled items into magical crafts like a milk carton school bus, paper bag puppet or cotton pad turtle. The crafters learn and laugh their way through each activity while demonstrating what their young imaginations can create.

Curious Crafting shares the adventure and joy of making art with takeaway lessons for creating crafts at home.

The Best Sensory Play Kits for Kids

Play is at the core of learning during the early years and it can take many forms. One of the most important of these is sensory play because it engages all of a child’s senses (taste, touch, smell, sight and hearing) and has a enoumous positive impact on brain development.

Our Sensory Play Kits are some fun and easy ways to keep your child engaged while at the same time using sensory play to nurture their mind!

Yes unused washable paints. The paint didn’t go on the grass. I use the bottom of the shower curtain as a drip mat.
