Cork Painted Earth Day Project for Kids

Ingredients

  • Corks
  • Paper plates (for paint)
  • Green and blue paint
  • White cardstock or printer paper
  • Earth template (can be printed or drawn)

Instructions

  • Prep Your Paints: Pour green and blue paint onto separate paper plates. These colors will represent the land and water on your Earth.
  • Set Up Your Paper: Trace a paper plate on your white cardstock with a marker and draw the outline of the land. Try to make the area larger enough to allow corks to paint easily.
  • Start Stamping: Dip a cork into the blue paint and start stamping it on the paper to make the oceans. Use a new cork or clean your cork, then dip it into the green paint to add the land. Try to stamp the green areas next to the blue ones, just like the continents and islands on our planet.
  • Let It Dry: Once you're happy with your mini-Earth, set it aside to dry completely. This might take a little while, so be patient!
