Recycled Paper Earth Day Craft

Ingredients

  • Cardboard
  • Scissors
  • Glue
  • Recycled paper (blue and green colored from magazines, cereal boxes, or newsprint)
  • Marker
  • Paper plate (for tracing)

Instructions

  • Trace the Earth: Place your paper plate on the cardboard and use a marker to trace around it to make a perfect circle. Draw outlines of different shapes for land.
  • Prepare Your Paper: Tear or cut the recycled paper into small pieces. Try to find as many shades of blue and green as you can for a more dynamic Earth.
  • Start Pasting: Begin gluing your green pieces onto the cardboard to create the oceans. Spread them out evenly and overlap them a bit for a cool, textured look.
  • Add the Land: Next, use the blue pieces to fill in the continents. You can look at a map for guidance or just design your own creative version of Earth!
  • Let It Dry: After all your pieces are glued down, set your craft aside to dry completely. Make sure it’s totally dry before you try to pick it up or hang it.
