Hatching Chick Craft

Servings: 0

Ingredients

  • White, yellow, and orange construction paper
  • Glue
  • Dot stickers (for decoration)
  • Scissors
  • Googly eyes

Instructions

  • Prepare the Egg and Chick: Cut out an egg shape from both the yellow and white construction paper. The yellow egg will serve as the chick, and the white egg as the shell.
  • Creating the Hatching Effect: Slightly fold the white egg and cut it in the middle to create a small opening. This simulates the initial crack of the hatching process.
  • Assemble the Egg: Apply glue along the edge of the white egg, avoiding the area near the cut. Carefully place the white egg on top of the yellow egg, aligning their edges.
  • Tear to Reveal the Chick: Use your fingers to gently tear the edges of the cut in the white egg outward, creating a larger opening as if a chick is actively hatching out.
  • Add the Chick's Features: Cut out a small triangle from the orange construction paper for the beak. Glue the beak and two googly eyes to the yellow construction paper that is visible through the opening in the white egg.
  • Decorate the Egg: Use colored dot stickers to add fun, colorful patterns to the outside of the egg, mimicking decorations or natural egg spots.
