Hedgehog Counting Craft: A Fun Fall Activity

Servings: 0

Ingredients

  • Cardboard
  • Scissors
  • Yarn (any fall color will do!)
  • Markers (Paint markers work wonders)
  • Pencil

Instructions

  • Begin by drawing the outline of a hedgehog on your cardboard. Use scissors to cut out your hedgehog shape.
  • Draw a cute face for your hedgehog.
  • On each hedgehog spike, write a number. Remember to adjust according to your child's age.
  • Tip: Try to have an odd number of spikes, so as you repeat the pattern around the hedgehog, the yarn wraps in different places, making it more engaging.
  • Tape one end of the yarn to the back of the hedgehog. Now, invite your child to find the numbers and wrap the yarn around each spike in sequential order.
  • Once they have wrapped the yarn around once or twice, cut the end and either tape it or tie it to the yarn on the back.
