Mason Jar Photo Vase Craft - Mother's Day or Valentine's Day Idea

Ingredients
- Mason jar
- Acrylic paint and paintbrush in white and other colors
- Circle foam brush
- Contact paper
- Scissors
- Photo of child
- Flowers
- Double-sided tape
Instructions
- Start by cutting out a small heart from the Contact paper. It's important not to make the heart too big; you want it to be a delicate feature on the jar. Once cut, peel the back off the Contact paper heart and carefully stick it onto the front of your Mason jar. Make sure it’s smooth and securely attached.
- Grab your white acrylic paint and a brush, and cover the entire outer surface of the jar. You might need a couple of coats to get an opaque finish. Let the paint dry completely between coats. This usually takes about 20-30 minutes, depending on the thickness of the paint and the humidity.
- Once your jar is dry, pour some of your colored paints onto a paper plate. Dip your circle foam brush into the paint, and start dotting around the jar. Be playful with your colors and sizes of dots to create a vibrant, cheerful pattern. Let all the paint dry thoroughly.
- Carefully peel off the Contact paper heart. You’ll see the lovely heart shape with the clear glass showing through where the heart was. This is your ‘window’ into the jar!
- Print a cute or funny picture of your child. Trim the photo to fit just right within the heart-shaped window. Attach a small amount of double-sided tape to the back of the photo—place it where it won’t be seen when looking from the front.
- Stick the photo inside the jar so it can be seen through the heart window. Adjust the placement to ensure the photo covers the entire heart space and is aligned just the way you like it.
- Now, fill the jar with some water and add fresh flowers, or keep it simple with artificial ones. This vase makes a heartfelt gift, especially for occasions like Mother’s Day or a birthday.
