Ingredients
- White cardstock
- White and brown construction paper
- Scissors
- Pom poms
- Pink, purple, and red washable kids' paint
- Clothespins
- Paper plate
Instructions
- Prepare the Tree:Start by cutting a tree shape out of the brown construction paper. This will be the base of your craft.Glue the tree onto a sheet of white cardstock. This will create a lovely background for your heart-filled tree.
- Create the Heart Stencil:Fold a piece of white paper in half and cut out a heart shape. This will serve as your stencil.Place the heart outline over the tree ensuring that all the branches are visible in the heart shape.
- Set Up the Painting Station:Pour the pink, purple, and red paint onto the paper plate, keeping the colors separate.Attach a pom pom to the end of each clothespin. These will be your brushes.
- Pom Pom Painting:Dip a pom pom brush into the paint and gently dab it inside the heart shape outline on the cardstock. You can create patterns or mix colors as you like.Continue dabbing around the heart, ensuring you cover the area well but also keeping within the outline.
- Reveal the Heart:Once you’re satisfied with the painting, carefully remove the heart outline. You'll be left with a beautiful pom pom painted heart on your tree.
- Finishing Touches:Allow the paint to dry. Once it's dry, you can add a special message on the card or simply hang your artwork to display.
