Ingredients
- Black construction paper
- Glue
- Freshly gathered leaves
- Green construction paper
Instructions
- Begin with a fun scavenger hunt outside. Gather leaves of different shapes, sizes, and autumnal colors. The more variety, the richer our pumpkin will look!
- On your black construction paper, draw a simple pumpkin outline. This is the space you'll fill with your leafy treasures.
- Now, tear your collected leaves into smaller pieces. Don't aim for perfection; the more random and rugged, the better. These torn pieces will form the body of our pumpkin.
- Start gluing the torn leaves inside your pumpkin outline. Overlap them, let them jut out a bit, and fill every nook and cranny until your pumpkin comes to life.
- From the green construction paper, cut out a stalk for your pumpkin and glue it at the top. It's the cherry on top, or in this case, the stalk on the pumpkin!
- Time to give your pumpkin a face. Cut out eyes, nose and mouth for your pumpkin to turn it into a jack-o-lantern.
