Begin with a fun scavenger hunt outside. Gather leaves of different shapes, sizes, and autumnal colors. The more variety, the richer our pumpkin will look!
On your black construction paper, draw a simple pumpkin outline. This is the space you'll fill with your leafy treasures.
Now, tear your collected leaves into smaller pieces. Don't aim for perfection; the more random and rugged, the better. These torn pieces will form the body of our pumpkin.
Start gluing the torn leaves inside your pumpkin outline. Overlap them, let them jut out a bit, and fill every nook and cranny until your pumpkin comes to life.
From the green construction paper, cut out a stalk for your pumpkin and glue it at the top. It's the cherry on top, or in this case, the stalk on the pumpkin!
Time to give your pumpkin a face. Cut out eyes, nose and mouth for your pumpkin to turn it into a jack-o-lantern.
