- Black construction paper
- Dr. Mae Jemison printable (available below)
- Scissors

Instructions
- Prepare Your Materials: Gather all your materials. Cut the sponges into smaller pieces if necessary, and set the white paint on the paper plate for easy paint access.
- Create the Background: Using the sponges, lightly dab white paint onto the black construction paper to create your starry night sky. Dip your sponge into the paint and then remove excess paint by printing it on the edge of the paper plate, and then on to the black construction paper. Encourage kids to think about the vastness of space and the beauty of the stars.
- Add the Stars: While the paint is still wet, sprinkle star sprinkles or glitter over the paper to add sparkle to your starry night. This step is sure to be a hit, so let the little ones go wild with the stars!
- Prepare Dr. Jemison: Cut out the Dr. Mae Jemison printable. This can be a great opportunity to talk about her life, her space mission, and her contributions to science.
