Begin by tracing your child's hands onto the white paper and then cutting them out. These will be the ghost's hands.
Cut out eyes, a mouth, and any additional features like teeth or eye balls from the black paper. Also cut out two curved arms from the white construction paper.
Attach the black paper features to the white paper plate using double-sided tape or glue. Encourage your child to create a friendly or spooky expression for their ghost.
Attach the handprint cutouts to the top of the arms and then attached the arms to either side of the plate having the hands reaching upward. This gives your ghost a more lifelike appearance.
Cut strips of white crepe paper streamers and attach them to the bottom of the paper plate using tape. These will be your ghost's trailing ectoplasmic streamers.
Once your Paper Plate Ghost is complete, display it proudly in your home. You can even hang it on a window for a ghoulishly delightful Halloween decoration! Use double sided tape to display on a window.
