INSIDE: Find out how to make Halloween Toast with 2 ingredient edible paint! This super easy recipe using milk is a fun way to create a cute Halloween snack with your toddler or preschooler! This is the perfect combination of snack + activity!

Halloween Snack + Activity

My kids love to paint and they also love to snack! So this Halloween toast with edible paint was the perfect activity for them. We did it after breakfast, but it’s the perfect activity that can be done for breakfast, lunch or during snack time!

The edible paint only requires 2 ingredients and you can create spooky Halloween scenes!

If you have halloween themed cookie cutters like bats, cats, moon, or pumpkins, pull those out as well. They make a great stencil in this activity. But if you don’t have cookie cutters, do not worry, you can still do this activity using your creativity!

How to Make Edible Paint

In a bowl combine 1/4 cup of milk with several drops of orange gel food colouring. Mix well with a spoon. Add more food colouring if desired, to get a more bright vibrant colour.

Repeat the step above to create, green, purple and black (if desired) edible paint.

Lay several slices of white bread on a plate or a table. Make sure to protect your table as food colouring will stain. Also, be sure to protect your child’s clothing while they paint as the edible paint will stain clothing.

Include separate clean paint brushes for each colour so that your little one doesn’t mix the colours. If you don’t have enough paint brushes or they aren’t clean you can also use q-tips.

Time to Paint Your Bread

Invite your toddler or preschooler to paint! Place the Halloween cookie cutter on the bread and use a clean paint brush or q-tip to paint inside the cookie cutter to paint the shape of the cookie cutter on the bread.

Continue painting the piece of bread until the entire slice of bread it covered on one side. Continue painting another slices of bread.

Once all the slices are complete on one side, place your slice of bread in a toaster oven and cook on medium heat or in the oven at 350 degrees F for 6-8 minutes.

Then Enjoy!
