If you have been following my blog for a while you know that I love using plastic Easter Eggs all year long. Check out Snow Easter Egg Hunt which we did during our crazy snowy winter. Well I just love Easter Craft for Kids: Painting with Easter Eggs by Buggy and Buddy. Check out their site it has tons of fabulous ideas for kids!

Here’s how to create this Rainbow craft!
Gather your supplies. You will need about 5 minutes to prep for this activity.
On a large sheet of white paper draw a large rainbow, using the sharpies, spacing out the arches. This will be the guide for your little one to use when stamping and printing with the Easter eggs. Creating the arches is great for toddlers and preschoolers but if you feel your little one can create the rainbow with out the arches as a guide go ahead. We did not use arches but if definitely would have been easier if we had!
If you have plastic Easter eggs in all the six colours of the rainbow great! If not, make do with the colours that you have. I did not have red so we used pink instead.
Set Out The Paint
For painting activities such as this, I like to use our colourful IKEA bowls to put the paint in. They are easy to clean and come in the colours of the rainbow making the activities super pretty and inviting!
Pour out your washable kids paint in all colours of the rainbow into each bowl. Then have your little one take the top of the Easter egg and dip it into the paint. Holding it by the top have them stamp the open end into the paint then stamp it all along the corresponding arch.
This could get messy, so have them wear a smock to project clothing and have baby wipes handy to clean hands!
I have always found that the best way to teach your little one something is through play. Arts and crafts is no different. If your child is still learning their colours this is the perfect opportunity to review them.
Talk through every step, identifying each colour as they paint, repeating it if you can. When my daughter was younger I would sing the colour name over and over again just for fun and she loved it.
Other Learning Opportunities
This activity is also a great fine motor activity for toddlers and preschoolers. It is also a great creative activity for kindergartners.
