Rubber ducks are a wonderful way to entertain toddlers. And if you read or sang the song Five Little Ducks, this is a great sensory activity to accompany it! The best part of it is that it is mess free!

How to create a Rubber Duck Pond Sensory Bag

Grab your green foam sheets and scissors and cut out 3 to 5 small lily pads. Place them inside of the large freezer Ziploc bag.

Next add one drop of blue food colouring to the Ziploc bag. I would not add too much just in case the bag leaks. You can also skip the food colouring entirely for the same reason.

Next, fill the ziploc bag with water – about half way and seal tightly. Use your fingers to separate the lily pads if they happen to get stuck together.

Use the duck tape the seal around the entire bag. I did not tape this bag to a surface but feel free to tape it to a highchair or floor for your little one.

Your sensory bag duck pond is ready! Now all you need is an excited toddler and a few rubber ducks.

Five Little Ducks

This activity goes great with the book Five Little Ducks. Grab one large duck and five smaller ducks and reenact the story on the sensory bag.

The great thing about this activity is that it is mess free! Save the bag for a quick and fun activity after reading!

Be sure to seal your bag tightly with duct tape and to check for leaks before letting your little one play with it!
