Snowflake Balance Activity

Snowflake Balance Activity is fun and easy gross and fine motor Winter themed activity for toddlers and preschoolers. A great indoor activity for those cold winter days when you need a simple to set up activity to keep them entertained!

This was a lot of fun for my toddlers and a great balancing and gross motor activity. It was also very easy to set up.

Snowflake Balance

Setting this up is super simple. Grab your painter’s tape and create a giant snowflake on the floor. The bigger the better. Grab a bowl or basket and cotton balls. Set them beside your giant snowflake.

First, I modeled what I wanted them to do. I walked along the tape snowflake with a cotton ball in hand walking one foot in front of the other. Then I placed the cotton ball at the end of the snowflake and walked back to grab another one. I asked my toddler to balance and walk along the snowflake to decorate it with snowflakes.

I had my toddlers continue doing this until most of the snowflake was covered.

How to Extend Play

Another great way to extend this activity is to have them line up the cotton balls along the lines of the snowflake to make it white like snow.
