Setting up Fall Yarn Sensory Bin

Grab your large sensory bin and fill it with red, green, orange and yellow yarn. Cut the yarn into different lengths. If you are doing this activity with babies or toddlers that still put things into their mouths don’t cut the yarn into small pieces.

When looking for yarn I tried to find yarn that was thick, fluffy and soft to touch.

Add the leaves and acorns and then let your little loose. Again, if you baby or toddler still puts things into their mouth, skip the acorns.

Fun Fall Activity

This was a fun and easy to set up sensory activity that my 18 month old twins really enjoyed. My daughter hopped right in and covered herself in the yarn and my son loved stretching it out and feeling through his fingers.

They hunted for the acorns and leaves and collected them on the side of the sensory bin. I help them count them as they found them.

The best thing about yarn is that the clean up is super easy!
