INSIDE: Tiger Sensory Bag activity is a fun and easy fine motor idea for toddlers and preschoolers. Let your little one give this cute tiger its stripes and strengthen those all important muscles in their fingers and hands. It’s a fun and easy activity for any zoo animal themed preschool unit of for the Lunar New Year – The Year of the Tiger 2022.

Hands-On Learning

Talk about hands-on, sensory bags are great way to foster learning. They are easy to create and focus on multiple skills. This snowman letter recognition sensory bag is wonderful for any winter themed preschooler or toddler unit.

Make quiet time their favourite time!

Play is at the core of learning during the early years and it can take many forms. One of the most important of these is sensory play because it engages all of a child’s senses (taste, touch, smell, sight and hearing) and has a enoumous positive impact on brain development.

My Sensory Play Kits are a fun and easy way to keep your child engaged while at the same time capitalizing on the benefits of sensory play to nurture their mind!

How to Set Up Tiger Sensory Bag

Grab your gallon sized ziplock bag. You can remove the label using an alcohol wipe. Draw a large circle using a black sharpie. Add a nose, mouth and line, whiskers and ears.

Fill the bag with a couple of squirts of hair gel and a drop of orange food colouring. You want enough hair gel to cover the entire tiger face.

Cut out 9 stripes from black foam sheets and two circles and put them inside the bag.

Ensure all the air is removed from the bag, close it and use packing tape to secure the top of the bag.

Tape the sensory bag to a table or floor using painter’s tape so that it is easier for your preschooler to complete the task.

How to Play with Tiger Sensory Bag

Mix up the stripes and eyes of the tiger in the sensory bag. Invite your little one to build the tiger by pushing the stripes into the right spots- three on the forehead and three on each each. Also invite them to move the circles or eyes into place to make a tiger! Roar!

Age Suitability

This activity is good for kids 3 years and up. My kids are 3.5, 3.5, and 7.5 year old.
