Handprint Flower Craft for Mother’s Day

This is such a cute activity and makes a great keepsake for mom for Mother’s Day but it is also a great DIY gift idea for anytime of the year or for any friend or family member! These flowers make an adorable craft for mom, caregiver, grandma or aunt!

How to a Handprint Flower Craft

  1. Cut out a small heart from the craft paper.
  2. Paint your child’s hand with paint and make handprints on the kraft paper.
  3. Attach a clothespin to a Pom Pom and use it make the stem and leaves for the flower. Set them aside to dry.
  4. Cut a 5 inch piece of toilet paper roll and paint it purple. Set it aside to dry.
  5. Once the flowers are dry cut them out.
  6. Once the toilet paper roll is dry, cut it out and glue it to a sheet cardstock. Use craft glue.
  7. Place the cut out flowers inside the toilet paper vase and glue them down.
  8. Take a pen and write the following message: If Mother’s were flowers, I’d pick you! Happy Mother’s Day

Age Suitability

This activity is good for kids 2.5 years and up. My kids are 4, 4, and 7 year old.

Mess Level

This is a painting activity so it can be messy. Mess level is at the high. Protect your surface with Kraft paper. Also protect your child’s clothing. You will need to use acrylic paint to paint the mason jar (that is not optional) and acrylic paints aren’t usually washable or if they are they don’t completely come out of clothing. Have wipes handy to clean hands after painting.
