Paint Crafts with Kids

I love crafting with bubble wrap! Its super accessible (comes for free in many packages) and its a lot of fun to play with. I mean who can resist popping those bubbles!! Since there is printing with paint involved in this activity, it can get messy, so make sure to protect your table accordingly as well your child’s clothing.

How to Make A Bubble Wrap Sea Turtle Craft

Grab your white card stock and bubble wrap. If you have a small piece of bubble wrap, you can print it multiple times on the white card stock in order to cover the entire page with blue waves. Print the painted bubble wrap beside each other on the page.

If you have a larger piece of bubble wrap (ie. the same size as your white card stock) you can just do one print.

First, paint your bubble wrap with waves in different shades of blue. I added white for two waves but if I were to do it again I would replace the white with a different shade of blue.

You don’t want the paint to dry on the bubble wrap so let your little one add a generous amount of paint so that it doesn’t dry to quickly. Immediately after painting the waves, pick up the bubble wrap and carefully print it on the white card stock.

This part can be a bit tricky. Your little one may need help. Remind your little one that it doesn’t need to be perfect (I hate the idea of kids thinking that their art needs to be perfect or look a certain way to be considered good.) If it takes them a few tries to get the bubble wrap on their page, thats ok because waves in the ocean are not perfect either!

Let the bubble wrap print dry. Meanwhile cut out a few sea turtle silhouettes. I used four but you can use as many as your little wants! Find the free sea turtle download below in the Supplies section. You will need to cut these out for your preschooler or kindergartener.

TV Show: Curious Crafting

I’m so excited to finally share my new crafting TV show Curious Crafting which launched July 1 at on TVOkids and TVOkids YouTube!

This show is all about fun and easy crafts for toddlers and preschoolers.

Set in the ultimate crafting space, Curious Crafting is a short form pre-school age series about the joy of making crafts. I lead a rotating cast of adorable little preschoolers (including my own) making magic out of common household objects.

In each episode we transform recycled items into magical crafts like a milk carton school bus, paper bag puppet or cotton pad turtle. The crafters learn and laugh their way through each activity while demonstrating what their young imaginations can create.

Curious Crafting shares the adventure and joy of making art with takeaway lessons for creating crafts at home.

The Best Sensory Play Kits for Kids

Play is at the core of learning during the early years and it can take many forms. One of the most important of these is sensory play because it engages all of a child’s senses (taste, touch, smell, sight and hearing) and has a enoumous positive impact on brain development.

Our Sensory Play Kits are some fun and easy ways to keep your child engaged while at the same time using sensory play to nurture their mind!
