When I can combine one of my kids’ favorite toys with a fun learning sensory bin activity, that is always a win my house! Colour Mixing Tea Party Sensory Bin was just that activity!!

There are many great ways to play with your child’s tea party set, you can use rice, pom poms or herbals teas. This activity allows your little one to actually pretend to make different teas by mixing colours!

Here’s How To Set Up Colour Mixing Tea Party Sensory Bin

Set up your sensory bin. Place your child’s tea set into a sensory bin. Add coloured water, red, yellow and blue. This will allow your little one the opportunity to mix colours to make all the other colours of the rainbow.

Then let them loose to play, pretend, imagine and learn!

Play Tip
This activity can get messy and since they are using coloured water I made sure that my daughter wore her smock to help protect her clothing.

Look Mom I Made Green!
The best part of the activity was when my daughter announced that she had made green tea! She was so excited that something she knew abstractly (that mixing yellow and blue together make green) – would actually make green!

Total Hit
She enjoyed this activity immensely and asked to play with it again after dinner! By the time she was done the water was a dark murky green but it was no less fun!
