This is a fun and easy learning activity involving finger painting. It’s a great way to get your toddler or preschooler more familiar with their name.
Here’s what you’ll need to get started:
Supplies
-
- Washable kid’s finger paint
- Egg carton
- Kraft Paper
- Marker
- Washable kid’s finger paint
Set Up
I like using egg cartons to hold paint, especially when we are using finger paints or are using several different colours.
Pour the finger paints into egg carton.
On the kraft paper write your child’s name using the marker.
Next show your toddler or preschooler how to dip their finger into the paint and use it to make fingerprint along each letter of their name.
Tell them they can use any colour and even mix colours if they like! This is a great opportunity to learn colours with toddlers and review colour mixing with preschoolers.
My three year old wanted to do each letter of her name in a single colour.
This is a great fine motor skills activity that will also help your toddler and preschooler recognize the letters of their name. This is also a great pre-writing activity.
