How to Set Up Giant Letter Trace
Are you ready to set up this simple pre-writing activity? Giant letter trace is a great to practice pre-writing skills!
Grab your painter’s tape and create large letters on your floor. Create letters that use straight lines such as A, H, V, N, M, K, L, T, F, E, X and W.
Invite your preschooler to use a washable marker to trace along the painter’s tape. Identify for them where to start each letter on the tape. Muscle memory is strong especially when it comes to writing. So give them the best start. Make sure they learn where to start to letters in the correct spot from the start, so that when they learn to write letters they don’t have to unlearn where they are starting to writing letters.
Extensions for Giant Letter Trace
Have your little one drive cars along the letters, line up animals online the letters and tape or trace the letters with washable chalk.

This activity is good for kids 2.5 years and up. My kids are 2.5, 2.5, and 6 year old.
