As we slowly creep towards warmer and warmer temperatures the insects of spring and summer are starting to appear. We get are fair share in our backyard so to celebrate their arrival we decided to do this fun craft and make cute bumblebees using a my favorite kitchen utensil to paint with – potato masher.
Here’s what you’ll need to create your own Potato Masher Bee:
 Supplies
(This post contains affiliate links.)
- Yellow and black Washable Kids Paints
- Blue and white Construction Paper
- Q-Tips
- Glue
- Googly Eyes
- Rounded Potato Masher
- Scissors
- BowlsÂ
for the paint
Easy Directions to Make a Potato Masher Bee
Gather your supplies. Using the scissors cut wings out of the white paper.
Dip the potato masher into the yellow paint (make sure the entire surface is covered in paint so that it stamps a full circle) and stamp it three times on the blue construction paper to make three bees.
Before the paint dries add googly eyes to the face of the bumblebee.
Making the Bumblebee Stripes
Dip a q-tip into the black paint and dab it in a straight line the make the bee stripes.
I also had my three year create a little stinger at the tail end of the bee using the q-tip.
Using the glue, glue down the wings along the outside the yellow bee!
Fun Craft!
This was a fun and easy craft to make with my almost four year! Definitely going up on our craft wall!

Great fine motor skill activity as well!
