At my sister-in-law’s farm the sunflowers stand 6 feet high by the end of summer and are as big as your face. These beautiful flowers are the perfect personification of summer. Here is a fun potato masher craft to make beautiful sunflowers, a fun late summertime craft!
Here’s what you’ll need to create your own Potato Masher Sunflower:

- Yellow and brown Washable Kids Paints
- Green and blue Construction Paper
- Glue
- Rounded Potato Masher
- Scissors
- Bowl for the paint
Easy Directions to Make a Potato Masher Sunflower
Gather your supplies. Using the scissors cut out a stem and leaf out of the green paper.
Glue on them on to the blue construction paper.
Dip the potato masher into the yellow paint (make sure the entire surface is covered in paint so that it stamps a full circle) and stamp it in a circle on the blue construction paper to make the petals of the sunflower.
Dip the potato masher into the brown paint (make sure the entire surface is covered in paint so that it stamps a full circle) and stamp it in the center of the petals of the sunflower.
