How to Play Halloween Bingo

This is a free printable that you can download. Included in the package is a single page of all the calling cards. There are 30 different characters of things such as a bat, monster eye, haunted house and boo bunny! You can print and then cut them out and place them in a trick or treat bucket or a witch’s hat and have someone pick out one card and call it out.

The rest of the package includes 13 pages of bingo cards. On each page there are two cards so there are a total of 26 unique cards. You can cut fold the page in half and cut the cards to create two cards.

Tip: print the Halloween Bingo on cardstock to help make them more durable.

Each card is unique with 25 characters so if you are playing this game in a classroom you can easily give each student one.

If you want to play Halloween Bingo with multiple classes or just make the cards more durable, laminate the card before playing or place them into a plastic protective sheet. If you want to use a marker or dapper to mark the bingo cards I recommend protecting the sheets before playing otherwise you will need to print out new cards each time they play (and trust me they will want to play more than once. Bingo is surprisingly fun for kids!).

Give each child a bingo card along with your chosen markers. I like to use Halloween stickers (with the back still on so they don’t actually stick) or candy corn or another other Halloween themed markers (think spiders).

Draw out the cut Halloween characters from the call sheet one at a time. Call out the character using the word printed below and show the kids (this is especially helpful for younger kids) what you drew so they can mark it off on their card.

The first child to get five Halloween characters in a row, wins!

3 Fun Ways to Use Halloween Bingo Cards

Halloween Bingo cards aren’t just for playing Bingo! Here are three easy Halloween activities you can try with your Bingo cards!

1. Halloween Scavenger Hunt

Turn your Halloween Bingo cards into a fun scavenger hunt! Give each child a Bingo card and have them search around the room for matching Halloween pictures or objects. You can hide Halloween-themed toys, decorations, or printed images for kids to find. As they discover each item, they can cover the matching picture on their card with a Bingo marker or small candy.

2. Halloween Matching Game

Create a simple Halloween matching activity using your Bingo cards! Print two copies of the cards and cut out the individual Halloween pictures from one set. Spread the pictures out on a table and have kids find the matching images on their Bingo cards.

3. Halloween Counting and Sorting

Use your Halloween Bingo cards for a fun hands-on math activity! Give kids a handful of Halloween-themed manipulatives, such as mini erasers, pom-poms, or candy corn. Have them place one item on each picture and count how many spaces they’ve covered. You can also ask kids to sort the pictures into categories, such as Halloween animals, costumes, or spooky decorations.

TV Show: Curious Crafting

I’m so excited to share my crafting TV show Curious Crafting which launched in July 2022 on TVOkids and TVOkids YouTube! Season 2 aired in August 2023! My show was also nominated in 2023 for Best Live Action Preschool Series by the Youth Media Alliance Awards of Excellence.

Curious Crafting Season 1 is also now airing in Australia on ABC! Watch it here!

Set in the ultimate crafting space, Curious Crafting is a short form pre-school age series about the joy of making crafts. I lead a rotating cast of adorable little preschoolers (including my own) making magic out of common household objects.

In each episode we transform recycled items into magical crafts like a milk carton school bus, paper bag puppet or cotton pad turtle. The crafters learn and laugh their way through each activity while demonstrating what their young imaginations can create.

Curious Crafting shares the adventure and joy of making art with takeaway lessons for creating crafts at home.

This show designed for toddlers and preschoolers 2.5 years old and up.
