How to Set Up Bean Self Portrait Craft
- Take your card stock, invite your child to draw the outline of their face on the page using a pencil.
- Then have them take the beans and start to colour in their portrait using the appropriately coloured beans.
What to Talk About
Depending on the age of your child you can start by asking questions like: Who are you? What makes you unique? How can you describe your identity and your skin colour? Let them guide the discussion. And remember discussion race doesn’t need to happen all in one day. Its something that you will and should be talking to your child about many different ways and times.
