Why You’ll Love This Craft
You’ll love this Black Glue Spider Web craft because it’s an easy way to create bold, beautiful Halloween art. The mix of black glue and watercolors makes the web look intricate without being complicated to make, and kids can experiment with different colors to bring their webs to life. What You’ll Need
- Paper plate
- School glue bottle
- Black paint
- Watercolors
- Paintbrush
Step-by-Step Instructions
1. Prepare the black glue:
It is best to start out with a bottle of glue that is at least 1/3 empty to 1/2 empty. Fill the bottle of glue with black paint. At least 1/3 of the bottle should be paint. Don’t add more than 1/2 black paint. Shake it well or stir it with a skewer until the glue is evenly colored. This will become the “webbing” for your spider web and give it that striking black outline.

2. Draw the spider web:
Using the black glue, draw a spider web pattern on the paper plate. Start by making a cross shape and then add diagonal lines from the center. Next, connect the lines with curved glue lines to form the web shape. Let the glue dry completely, which may take a few hours.

3. Add the watercolors:
Once the black glue has dried and set, use watercolors to paint the inside of each section of the web. You can choose a single color or mix a few for a colorful effect. The paint will stop at the black glue lines, creating a beautiful stained-glass effect that makes the web pop.

4. Let it dry and display:
Once you’ve finished painting, let the paper plate dry completely. Then, your Black Glue Spider Web is ready to display! Hang it up, place it in a window, or add it to your Halloween decorations for a touch of DIY charm.

This Black Glue Spider Web is an easy, fun way to celebrate Halloween while letting kids experiment with colors and textures. Plus, it’s a cool craft that doubles as a piece of art to show off around the house!
