How to Set Up Shirt Button Counting Activity

Setting up this simple counting activity is very easy.

Draw three shirts on a three sheets paper. As you can see, I am no artist. Something basic will do! You can either draw the shirts like I did on separate sheets of paper or you can draw them all together on a large sheet of butcher paper.

I did this with my 2.5 year old twins so I kept it simple and we just counted to three. If you are doing this with preschoolers you can draw more shirts and have them count and glue more buttons.

Write 1 to 3 above each shirt and finally, draw circles to represent the buttons that each shirt needs.

Invite your toddler or preschooler to glue the buttons down on to the shirts. Before they glue, have them identify the number of buttons needed for the shirt.

Extend the Activity for Button Counting

Once they are finished gluing have them decorate the shirt more! Color it with markers, crayons, glitter glue (if your adventurous), stickers, watercolors paint or whatever you have on hand!

Age Suitability

This activity is good for kids 2.5 years and up. My kids are 2.5, 2.5, and 6 year old.

Our Sensory Play Kits are a fun and easy way to keep your child engaged while at the same time capitalizing on the benefits of sensory play to nurture their mind!
