  • Construction paper
  • Paper Cups
  • Small Black Pom Poms
  • Marker
  • Googley eyes
  • Scissors

How to Make Caterpillar Cup Number Match for Preschoolers

Grab your supplies. Cut out a circle from green construction paper, glue on googley eyes and draw a smile. Glue the head on to the another larger sheet of paper. Draw antenna and glue on two small black Pom Poms at the end.

Take a paper cup and draw 9 circles to make the caterpillar body. Draw little feet under each circle.

Draw dots to represent numbers 1 to 9. Write the corresponding number on the bottom of 9 paper cups.

Invite your little one to match the cups to the numbers.

Extending Caterpillar Cup Number Match for Preschoolers

Here are some ways to extend this caterpillar number match activity:

  1. Invite your little one to count and glue the corresponding Pom Poms into each circles.
  2. Invite your little one to use a Pom Pom to paint the corresponding number of dots in each circle. (messy)
  3. Invite your little one to use dot stickers and stick the corresponding number of dots in each circle.

Age Suitability

This activity is good for kids 3 years and up. My kids are 4, 4, and 7 year old.
