Floating right out of a spooky, moonlit night and into our crafty classroom, comes a ghostly friend who’s more about ABCs than boos. If you’re ready to mix some Halloween vibes with letter learning, our Dot Sticker Ghost Activity is ready to haunt your afternoon in the best way possible!

What You’ll Need

  • Black construction paper
  • White paint marker
  • Black Sharpie, crayon, or chalk
  • White dot stickers

The Ghostly Steps:

  1. Sketch the Specter: Using the white paint marker, chalk or crayon draw a friendly ghost outline on the black construction paper. Remember, it doesn’t need to be perfect. Every ghost has its own unique floaty shape!
  1. Alphabet Attack: With the same white paint marker write uppercase letters all over your ghostly canvas.
  1. Dots of Darkness: On the white dot stickers, write the lowercase versions of the letters you’ve inscribed on the ghost.
  2. Match in the Moonlight: Now, for the enchanting part! Invite your little one to align the spirit world with the mortal realm by matching the lowercase stickers to their uppercase ethereal twins on the ghost.

Eerie Yet Effective Tips:

  • Beyond the Boo: Letters are just the start! Try numbers, symbols, or basic words. This ghost loves all kinds of knowledge.
  • Glowing Growth: Begin with a few letters or numbers, especially if your child is just starting their learning journey. Gradually introduce more as their confidence soars.

This activity isn’t just about conjuring fun; it’s a treasure trove of skills:

  • Fine Motor Mastery: Those dainty fingers are at work, perfecting the art of peeling and sticking.
  • Ghostly Gaze: Concentration is key. This task demands attention, aiding in sharpening focus.
  • Cryptic Challenges: It’s a mysterious puzzle! Pairing the letters becomes an engaging riddle for young, curious minds.
  • Spectral Sight: Differentiating between letters aids in developing keen visual perception.

Age Suitability

This activity is good for preschoolers aged children 3 years old and up with adult assistance.

In each episode we transform recycled items into magical crafts like a milk carton school bus, paper bag puppet or cotton pad turtle. The crafters learn and laugh their way through each activity while demonstrating what their young imaginations can create.

Curious Crafting shares the adventure and joy of making art with takeaway lessons for creating crafts at home.

The Best Sensory Play Kits for Kids

Play is at the core of learning during the early years and it can take many forms. One of the most important of these is sensory play because it engages all of a child’s senses (taste, touch, smell, sight and hearing) and has a enoumous positive impact on brain development.

Our Sensory Play Kits are some fun and easy ways to keep your child engaged while at the same time using sensory play to nurture their mind!
