This was a fun and simple to set up Christmas painting activity that works well with one child or many. Making it a great activity for home, daycare or school.
Here’s what you’ll need to get started:
Set Up
Tape a large sheet of kraft paper to the floor.
Using the sharpie draw a large circle on a large piece of kraft paper.
Inside the circle draw wavy lines, different shapes and patterns for your little one to paint along and inside.
Painting Time
When doing a painting activity like this I like to put the paints into either separate colourful bowls and then add a brush for each colour or handy Paint Cups.
This allows my little one to paint without having to worry about cleaning the brushes after each colour.
Then I had my happy four year old decorate the giant Christmas bauble using the paint!
Fine Motor Fun
This activity was great for working both fine motor muscles.
Containing Mess
Before we started this activity I reminded my four year old (in a way that would appeal to her so as to not start the activity on a negative note) that the paint stays on the paper.
I also made sure she was wearing clothes that I didn’t mind getting dirty and I made sure she was wearing a paint smock. I also had wipes and paper towel on hand.
