How to Set Up Giant Turkey Craft
Grab all your supplies. Tape down a large sheet of paper using masking tape.

Using your paint sticks to draw a giant outline of a turkey, including eyes, beak and snood.

To set up the paints you can do it a few ways.

- Pour the paint directly on to the sheet of paper and then have your little one dip their feet into the paint directly on the paper where you drew the turkey; or
- Use a paint brush and paint the bottom of your little ones feet; or
- Use a sensory bin or shallow dish large enough for your little one to put their foot into.

I did this activity with 20 month old twins and my 5 year old so the easiest this to do was to pour the paint directly on the paper and let them mix it there.

Before you start painting make sure to tell your little one that the paint will be slippery so that they should not run and skip while they paint. Walk slowly and carefully.

Also make sure to let your kids know to stay on the paper while they are paint walking. But keep wipes handy in case they venture off!

Create The Giant Turkey Feathers
Time to walk! Invite your little one to walk through the paint and then walk around the turkey body to create the feathers! Let them mix the paints to create new colours. I only had red and yellow paints so I asked my kids to mix them together to make orange.

The place where I poured the paints eventually turned into a big blob of red and orange paint but it added to the turkey’s plumage!

Total Hit
This was a creative and fun activity that all my kids loved. It did get messy so I kept wipes handy to clean feet!
