Glowing Firefly Craft
Grab an empty water bottle. Wrap some crepe paper around the middle of the bottle to hide the pipe cleaners. Wrap it around the middle section. Secure it with glue or tape.
Wrap three pipe cleaners around the middle of the bottle and bend them like legs. Take another pipe cleaners and wrap that around the neck of the bottle and curl then at the ends to make anntenae.
Cut wings of construction paper or foam sheets. Decorate them using glitter glue or markers.
Attached the wings to the crepe paper using double sided tape. You can also secure them with a hot glue gun.
Take a glow stick, activate it and insert inside the water bottle. Seal it with the head of the firefly. Glue googley eye to the top of the bottle cap and draw a small smile!
Enjoy your firefly at night or in a dark room!
Age Suitability
This activity is good for kids 3 years and up. My kids are 3.5, 3.5, and 7 year old.
