LEGO finish the animals is one of my favourite ways to play with LEGO DUPLO without building! Complete the animals using LEGO!

How to Set Up LEGO Finish the Animals

Start by spreading out some butcher paper on the floor or table and tape it down using painters tape. Draw the large outline of a few animals such as a lion, turtle and peacock. You want to choose animals that have an unique feature that your child has to complete using the LEGO. When drawing the animal leave out the special feature of the animal that you want your child to finish.

For example with the turtle, I dint draw its shell, only its head, feet and tail.

Another example is a peacock. Draw the body of the bird without its feathers.

For the lion, just draw the lion’s head without the mane.

Invite your child to sort through their LEGO DUPLO and use different bricks to complete the animals. For the Lio we sorted out yellow, orange and red bricks. For the peacock we used blue and white and some different colors. For the turtle we used blue and green bricks.

I loved their creativity and how they found the perfect pieces to make the different parts of the animals! So much fun!

I’m so excited to finally share my new crafting TV show Curious Crafting which launched July 1 at on TVOkids and TVOkids YouTube!

Set in the ultimate crafting space, Curious Crafting is a short form pre-school age series about the joy of making crafts. I lead a rotating cast of adorable little preschoolers (including my own) making magic out of common household objects.

In each episode we transform recycled items into magical crafts like a milk carton school bus, paper bag puppet or cotton pad turtle. The crafters learn and laugh their way through each activity while demonstrating what their young imaginations can create.
