Mega Block Jumping is a fun and easy way to keep your active toddler entertained at home! A great gross motor activity for little people!
Active Toddlers
Do you have a busy active toddler at home? I know intimately what it’s like to have an active toddler at home. So when I set up this super easy gross motor activity I knew they would love it. It had everything a toddler loves: action, imagination and repetition. And it had everything that I love in an activity: easy set plus an even easier clean up.
How to Set Mega Blok Jumping
I decided to set this activity up after breakfast. I pulled out the Mega Blocks and had them help me build the jumping barriers. Of course they wanted to build their own things and we ended up building for quite sometime before even jumping. As soon as I felted they were growing tired of building I put the jumping phase of our activity in motion!
The barriers were only two layer high. We aren’t training for the Olympics here, just some fun gross motor practice! I spread out the barriers with enough space between each so that they were able to either jump, hop, walk or even run over the, without tripping over the next barrier
TIP: Try building color coordinated barriers and invite your toddlers to jump over a certain color!
I made a path way around the table with the barriers and they jumped, walked and ran over each one. As first I let them cross over each barrier however they liked. Then after a few tries I asked them to jump, walk or run over as different animals. Then I asked them to jump/walk/run as different emotions, such as:
Funny
Angry
Happy
Sad
Silly
This was such as hit, they asked for it again the next day after breakfast!

Boring afternoons are made exciting with awesome animal-based bins, like Salty Shark Bay or Yarn Farm. Pretend play bins like Birthday Cake Sensory Play or Bubble Tea Party encourage creativity and imagination. And your kids will have so much fun they won’t even know they’re getting smarter with STEAM (science, technology, engineering, art and math) activities like Sink or Float Soup, Magnetic Letter Hunt or Ice Cream Scoop and Count.
Learning all about science, technology, engineering, art, and math sets kids up for scholastic success―and it can be so much fun! Watch kids enjoy building STEAM skills as they color friendly fish, help water find its way to tree roots, solve math problems with mazes, and more.
This show is all about fun and easy crafts for toddlers and preschoolers.
Set in the ultimate crafting space, Curious Crafting is a short form pre-school age series about the joy of making crafts. I lead a rotating cast of adorable little preschoolers (including my own) making magic out of common household objects.
In each episode we transform recycled items into magical crafts like a milk carton school bus, paper bag puppet or cotton pad turtle. The crafters learn and laugh their way through each activity while demonstrating what their young imaginations can create.
Curious Crafting shares the adventure and joy of making art with takeaway lessons for creating crafts at home.
Play is at the core of learning during the early years and it can take many forms. One of the most important of these is sensory play because it engages all of a child’s senses (taste, touch, smell, sight and hearing) and has a enoumous positive impact on brain development.
Our Sensory Play Kits are some fun and easy ways to keep your child engaged while at the same time using sensory play to nurture their mind!
