How to Make A New Year’s Eve Party Hat
- Trace the hat template onto a colourful sheet of card stock and cut it out.
Time to decorate the hat!
Make the Pipe Cleaners Fireworks
- Measure out the Christmas garland around the bottom of the hat.
- Cut two sparkly pipe cleaners in half and then half again. Bunch 4 together and secure it with a fifth pipe cleaner. Twist the fifth pipe cleaner to secure the other ones leaving a small stem to push into the hat. Bend down the top to look like a firework. Make between 5-6 of theses.
- Poke small holes all over the hat using a craft knife. Make the holes large enough to poke the end of the pipe cleaner fireworks through. Insert the fireworks. Leave one to insert at the top of the hat.
- Add foam star stickers in any empty spots.
Time to put on the New Year’s Eve Party Hat
- Add double sided tape around the bottom the hat and stick the Christmas garland on it.
- Fold the tab and secure the hat into a cone using double sided tape.
- Cut off any excess garland.
- Measure and cut a piece of elastic string, long enough tofu around your child’s head.
- Secure it on either side of the hat with a stapler.

This activity is good forpre-k, kindergarten aged children 3 years old and up. My kids are 4.5, 4.5 and 8 years old.
