Materials

  • Plastic outdoor toys
  • Washable kids Paint
  • Paint brushes
  • Sponges
  • Bubble bath

Instructions

To get started, all you’ll need is some washable paint and a few plastic toys, such as a large playhouse, plastic chairs, or even a plastic car. You can choose any colors you like and encourage your kids to mix and match them to create their own unique designs. Make sure to choose washable paint so that cleanup is a breeze.

Once you have your supplies ready, it’s time to start painting! Encourage your kids to experiment with different techniques, such as painting with brushes or sponges, or even using their hands to create prints. Let them use their imaginations to come up with fun and unique designs for their toys.

When your kids are finished painting, it’s time to clean up. Using sponges, soap, and water, have them wash off their toys, giving them an additional sensory experience. Once the toys are clean, they’ll be ready to play with again and your kids will have a fun and memorable art project to show off to their friends and family.

Painting outdoor toys is a simple, affordable, and fun activity that’s perfect for the summer months. It encourages kids to get outside, use their creativity, and develop their fine motor skills, all while having a great time. So grab some paint, gather your plastic toys, and let your kids unleash their inner artist

TV Show: Curious Crafting

I’m so excited to share my crafting TV show Curious Crafting which launched in July 2022 on TVOkids and TVOkids YouTube! Season 2 airs in the summer of 2023! We were also nominated in 2023 for Best Live Action Preschool Series by the Youth Media Alliance Awards of Excellence.

Set in the ultimate crafting space, Curious Crafting is a short form pre-school age series about the joy of making crafts. I lead a rotating cast of adorable little preschoolers (including my own) making magic out of common household objects.

In each episode we transform recycled items into magical crafts like a milk carton school bus, paper bag puppet or cotton pad turtle. The crafters learn and laugh their way through each activity while demonstrating what their young imaginations can create.

Curious Crafting shares the adventure and joy of making art with takeaway lessons for creating crafts at home.

This show designed for toddlers and preschoolers 2.5 years old and up.
