Paper towel roll dominoes is a fun STEM challenge for preschoolers and kindergartners and a great screen-free way to keep bigger kids occupied at home!
It’s amazing the things that one can come up with when you are forced to use what you have and this activity is definitely one of them. I was playing with my kids with our growing stash of cardboard tubes and the idea hit me… can we create a dominoes effect with cardboard tubes? And this fun STEM challenge was born!
How to set up paper towel roll dominoes STEM challenge
This is such as simple activity to set. It was fun for my toddlers to watch and provided a great way to keep my kid entertained and challenged. All you need at a bunch of cardboard tubes so start saving them now!
I used paper towel rolls but you could try it with toilet paper rolls. If you do try it, let me know how it goes in the comments below.
Line up all your cardboard tubes. The key to making this work is to ensure that the paper towel rolls are equal distance apart in a straight line but other than that let your little one try out different ways to create a full domino effect!
We added Easter eggs to the tops of the tubes so how that would impact our domino effect.
Enjoyed this activity then you will love this Ring Toss Game using cardboard tubes!
