Make quiet time their favourite time!

Play is at the core of learning during the early years and it can take many forms. One of the most important of these is sensory play because it engages all of a child’s senses (taste, touch, smell, sight and hearing) and has a enoumous positive impact on brain development.

My Sensory Play Kits are a fun and easy way to keep your child engaged while at the same time capitalizing on the benefits of sensory play to nurture their mind!

How to Make A Penguin Sensory Bottle

Grab your sensory bottle and all your other supplies. Fill you bottle with a 2 teaspoons of white glue. Fill the rest of the bottle with warm water and glitter. I usually add the water to a measuring cup and add the glitter there and then pour it into the bottle. Add a single drop of black food colouring. You don’t want you sensory bottle to be too dark that you can’t see the glitter. Dilute the water if you add too much black food coloring.

Close the sensory bottle tightly and seal with duct tape or a hot glue gun.

Glue cotton balls along the front of one side of the sensory bottle.

Cut out a beak and feet from orange construction paper. Glue those to the cotton balls. Cut out two black circles from the construction paper. Glue those above the beak. Cut out two wings and glue those to the sides of the sensory bottle using a glue gun.
