Pine Cone Felt Turkey Craft

Turkey time is here, and what better way to celebrate than with a charming Pine cone Felt Turkey Craft! This easy and enjoyable project is perfect for getting into the Thanksgiving spirit and is great for crafters of all ages.

What You’ll Need

• A pinecone
• Red, brown, and orange felt
• Googley eyes
• Scissors
• Glue
• Pom Pom

Crafting Your Turkey

1. Prep the Feathers: Let’s start with the turkey’s tail. Cut out feather shapes from your brown, red, and orange felt.
2. Assemble the Tail: Now, glue your felt feathers in-between the spikes of the pinecone. Arrange them in a fan shape, mixing up the colors for a vibrant look. It’s starting to look turkey-tastic!

1. Make a Face: Every turkey needs a face! Glue a pair of googley eyes onto the Pom Pom.
2. Create the Beak and Wattle: Cut a small triangle from the orange felt for the beak and a teardrop shape from the red felt for the wattle. Glue them under the eyes. Your turkey’s face is now complete! Glue it to the top of the pinecone.
3. Finishing Touches: If you like, add little feet cut from the felt, or maybe even a tiny felt hat for a festive touch!

There you have it, a delightful pinecone and felt turkey, ready to strut its stuff on your dining table or windowsill. This craft is not only a great way to upcycle those autumn pinecones but also an excellent opportunity for kids to practice their cutting and gluing skills, learn about textures, and explore their creativity.

I’m so excited to share my crafting TV show Curious Crafting which launched in July 2022 on TVOkids and TVOkids YouTube! Season 2 aired in August 2023! My show was also nominated in 2023 for Best Live Action Preschool Series by the Youth Media Alliance Awards of Excellence.
