After being cooped up inside this cold cold winter with her uber pregnant mama, this always happy preschooler got bored of playing with her new Christmas toys and asked for a craft!
Absolutely I said, as I rummaged through our craft cart and kitchen drawers for some supplies and viola! Potato Masher Penguin was born.
Here’s how you can make this cute little fellow!
Supplies
(This post contains affiliate links).
- White Tempera Washable Paint
- Black and orange Construction Paper
- Round Potato Masher
- Scissors
- Googly Eyes
- Paper plate or Bowl
- Washable Glue
 (optional)
Directions
First cut out the beak and webbed feet for the penguin using the orange construction paper. Then cute out an oval shape with a flat bottom for the penguins body.
Pour white paint on to the paper plate or into the bowl. Stamp the potato masher into the paint and make sure to cover the entire surface with paint. Make one or two stamps for the body of the penguin. Make another stamp for its head.
Add googly eyes. To do this you can either directly place the eyes on the wet paint, they will stick as the paint dries provided there is sufficient paint or you can glue them on.
Add the beak.
Next add the web feet. Again for both the beak and feet, you can either use glue to secure them or simply stick them in the wet paint. They will stick as the paint dries provided there is lots of paint.
Enjoy your cute little Potato Masher Penguin!
