My happy kindergartner may be super excited about Halloween this year but that doesn’t mean that she is not still a little afraid of some of the Halloween decorations out there.

I went out on a limb this year and bought a few not so scary skeletons to hang up on our front porch but I had to move them because she found them too scary.

My dreams of creating a fun haunted house on our front porch will have to wait one more year but in the mean time I thought why not create a cool haunted house craft of our own using different shapes and Halloween stickers! And this adorable craft was born!

Here’s how to create your own Shape Haunted House Craft

Cut out different shapes – squares, triangles, circles, rectangles and others using the green, purple, black and orange foam sheets.

Then have your little one create a house using the shapes. I made an example of a house and my happy kindergartener used it to help create her own.

Time to create a Haunted House

Use the Halloween foam stickers to turn your lovely shape home into a spooky haunted home!

My happy four year old added spiders, bats and pumpkins to the house she made to create a spooky haunted house. There were bats flying in the attic, giant spiders on the door and pumpkins out front.

Early Math

Did you know that learning shapes is an important part to early math skills? Well they are and the best way for little ones to learn them is by interacting with the shapes in a hands on manner.

Gluing Skills

I loved this activity because it involved glue and my happy kindergartener loved it as well for this reason.

There is something about glue that just keeps toddler, preschoolers and kindergarteners engaged.
