This morning while getting ready for school my five year described the way she was moving her shoulders in the most unique way. The word she used fully captured the way she was moving, dancing almost, even though there was no music! She said, look mommy my shoulders are galloping! I thought that was just the best way to describe what she was doing with her shoulders! I just love how children use language!
And just to keep our morning interesting, my eight year old asked me to explain was radioactive meant! Phew! Try explaining nuclear physics to an 8 year old while also trying to get her and two 5 year olds out the door to school!
When we came home I needed something simple and easy to ease us into the evening and this simple cut straw activity did the trick! Printing with the straw was tricky and fun. The key to getting the perfect star shape is lots of paint all over the bottom of the straw, we quickly found out.

How to Set up Straw Painted Easter Egg
Print off the outline of an Easter egg available for free above.
Pour out some paint on to a paper plate or tray. I used pastel eater colours like light pink, purple, yellow and blue.
Cut the ends of your straws into at least four small sections. Dip cut end of the straw into the paint and print them on to your Easter egg! Make a pattern or put colour all over. Let your child choose their own design! Set it aside to dry.
Once it is dry, cut it out and glue it to a sheet of construction paper.

TV Show: Curious Crafting
Set in the ultimate crafting space, Curious Crafting is a short form pre-school age series about the joy of making crafts. I lead a rotating cast of adorable little preschoolers (including my own) making magic out of common household objects.
In each episode we transform recycled items into magical crafts like a milk carton school bus, paper bag puppet or cotton pad turtle. The crafters learn and laugh their way through each activity while demonstrating what their young imaginations can create.
Curious Crafting shares the adventure and joy of making art with takeaway lessons for creating crafts at home.
This show designed for toddlers and preschoolers 2.5 years old and up.
