Materials

- Coffee filter
- Washable Markers (blue and green)
- Spray bottle with water
- Red construction paper
- Scissors
- Glue
Instructions
Start by laying down some newspaper or a tablecloth to protect your work surface.
Take your coffee filter and flatten it out on your workspace.
Use your green and blue markers to color the coffee filter. Be sure to color so that they’re completely filled in. I find the best markers for coloring coffee filters are the Mr. Sketch markers as they give bright vibrant colour but any washable marker will work.
Once you’re done coloring, place your coffee filter in a tray or baking sheet to protect your table and lightly mist it with the spray bottle. Be careful not to spray too much water, or the colors may run.
Set the coffee filter aside to dry completely.
Once the coffee filter is dry, cut out a heart from red construction paper and glue it in the middle of the Earth.

I’m so excited to share my crafting TV show Curious Crafting which launched in July 2022 on TVOkids and TVOkids YouTube! Season 2 airs in the summer of 2023! We were also nominated in 2023 for Best Live Action Preschool Series by the Youth Media Alliance Awards of Excellence.
