Setting Up You Dot Sticker Tree

Gather nine sheets of construction paper in various colours and cut them into large triangles.

Take your painter’s tape and attached build the triangle Christmas tree on a wall.

Invite your toddler or preschooler to use the dot stickers to decorate the Christmas tree by colour.

How the Played

I handed my toddlers one sheet of each colour and asked them to choose a colour to start with. They picked their favourite colours first and then quickly move on to other colours. Attaching the dot stickers is a great fine motor activity for toddlers.

As they were working we also talked about the different colours. I asked them if they could think of something that matched the colour they were working on.

For instance, if they were working on the blue section, I asked if they could think of something that was the colour blue.

Total Hit

This was a great activity that extended over a few days. My toddlers would work on it in the morning before preschool, after lunch and a little bit while I made dinner.
