Let a loved one know they are “one in a melon” with today’s bright and colorful watermelon footprint keepsake card craft! It’s the perfect keepsake to create this Valentines or Mother’s Day or any day!!
How to Make A Footprint Watermelon Card Craft
This craft is a lot of fun to make with a baby or toddler and makes a great keepsake craft for Valentines Cay or Mothers Day. but my “babies” aren’t babies anymore but I still wanted to create this idea with them. My five year old especially loves footprint crafts and she got a real kick out of making this craft!
- Use a paint brush to paint your babies foot. Stamp it on a piece of white paper or card stock. I liked to stamp it a few times to create a few prints.
- Cut out the footprint.
- Cut a semi circles from green construction paper and glue the footprint to it.
- Fold a piece of red construction paper in half and cut it. Glue the footprint watermelon to the front.
- Use a black marker to create the watermelon seeds.
- Write “You are one in a melon” on the card.
- Use a heart lever punch to create small hearts and glue them all around the footprint watermelon. If you don’t have heart lever punch you can cut out small hearts from construction paper.
This activity is good for preschoolers aged children 3 years old and up. My kids are 5, 5 and 8 years old.
The mess level for this activity is low.

TV Show: Curious Crafting
Set in the ultimate crafting space, Curious Crafting is a short form pre-school age series about the joy of making crafts. I lead a rotating cast of adorable little preschoolers (including my own) making magic out of common household objects.
In each episode we transform recycled items into magical crafts like a milk carton school bus, paper bag puppet or cotton pad turtle. The crafters learn and laugh their way through each activity while demonstrating what their young imaginations can create.
Curious Crafting shares the adventure and joy of making art with takeaway lessons for creating crafts at home.
This show designed for toddlers and preschoolers 2.5 years old and up.
